True conversion was the topic of Pastor Bolling's sermon this week. We looked at 1 Thessalonians 1:5-10. True conversion is what takes place when the Holy Spirit is present. We cannot force a true conversion, because only the Holy Spirit can convict someone of Christ's deity. So, what can we do? We can preach the gospel as it should be preached, by presenting the true word of God, even through opposition and persecution. We can model ourselves after Christ, knowing that we are an example to an unbelieving world. And, we can turn to God first, expecting Him to help us turn away from the idols and sin in our lives. How do we do it? Through the power of the Holy Spirit!
