The purpose of Silver Lake Church of the Nazarene is to make a great commitment to the great commandment and the great commission in order to make a great church.
What is the Great Commandment?
The great commandment was issued by Jesus in the book of Matthew. Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' (Matthew 22:37-39)
What is the Great Commission?
Jesus called us to fulfill the great commission in Matthew 28:19-20, which reads: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
